Purchased at the Christie’s auction sale of the contents of Stowe House in 1848 (lot 714: ‘A Roman bust, with drapery of jasper’);

Green, Esq (who purchased the work at the above sale); Collection of Sir Robert Peel, 2nd Baronet (1788 - 1850), Twice Prime Minister of the UK; Purchased at auction from a Yorkshire property of Peel Family, circa 1940 - 1945 (either Elmire House, near Ripon, or Hellifield Peel Castle, near Skipton); Private collection Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria, England; Private collection London, who purchased from the above in the late 1970s.
